Founded in 2019, The Healing Closet Corp. was created with one mission:
Mission Statement
Our mission is to deliver dignity to our community by accepting & donating worn clothing in efforts to heal mended hearts.
Vision Statement
To restore confidence, dignity, and stability to individuals and families experiencing clothing insecurity by providing free, quality clothing resources, community-centered outreach, and year-round support programs.
What We Do – Our Outreach at a Glance!
The Healing Closet Corp. provides gently used clothing, hygiene kits, and essential resources to children, families, and individuals experiencing homelessness. These donated supplies from our community helps us host/partner a variety of essential programs throughout the year, including:
Spring/Summer Clothing Donation Drive
Back-to-School Uniform & Supply Partnership with Local Counties
National Homeless Day Outreach (October 10th)
Thanksgiving Community Giveback in Collaboration with Other Nonprofits
Emergency clothing assistance for families, shelters, and transitional housing programs.

Our Donor Goals
We yearn to expand our Mobile Outreach to reach more homeless individuals, grow our Annual Clothing Drive to serve 1,000+ families annually by 2027, and transform lives through 50+ Giveaways for deserving individuals by next year. With the leadership of our team’s strategic vision, operational excellence, financial stewardship, grant expertise, volunteer dedication, we’re turning these goals into reality.

Our Accomplishements
Since our founding, The Healing Closet Corp. has made a profound impact in Atlanta. We’ve distributed over 5,000 clothing items and hygiene kits through our Annual Clothing Drive, bringing warmth to families in need. Our Mobile Outreach truck has reached 1,200+ individuals experiencing homelessness, delivering essentials directly to underserved areas. Through our Makeover Giveaways, we’ve empowered 15 single parents with transformative styling experiences, boosting their confidence and reminding them they’re valued. These milestones are driven by our exceptional team: CEO Latoya Carter’s innovative leadership, COO Matt Murray’s streamlined operations, CFO Annie Murray’s fiscal responsibility, Grants Manager Nicole Givens’ funding success, and Lead Volunteers Allison and Chantell Shy’s tireless community engagement. Together, we’re mending hearts and building brighter futures.
